A look through my lens, intO my life

I’ve Never been great at keeping a journal.

But i’m going to give this blog thing a try.

It wasn’t until I turned 18 that I began taking photos with a camera better than the one found on your average iPhone. At that point in my life - journaling or blogging were no where to be found on my priority list.

My Grandma Hellie was the first one to buy me a journal when I was 10 or 11 years old - and while she did what she could to encourage me to write, it didn’t ever really sink in.

“For the sake of remembering”, she would say.

“You won’t regret it when you’re older. I wish I would have written more myself.”

I didn’t listen. Of course, now - I wish I would have listened to her. Though, if I’m being honest, I haven’t ever been great with words alone.

I can’t paint pictures with words. I paint pictures with… pictures. Or paint. Both. I paint pictures with both paint & pictures - but I do not paint pictures with words. Clearly.

But now that I have some pictures to help guide my words, I think this will be a much more interesting process - I invite you to find out for yourself.

Below, you’ll find the blogs I have written, along with my favorite photos from each adventure (no matter how big or small).

This is a look at my life as a traveling photographer & tattoo artist based in Northern Minnesota - the original homelands of the Anishinaabe people.

Also known as the Iron Range.

I invite you to come along with me on this adventure.
